I’m passionate about working with children, and I’ve worked hard to learn pediatric procedures and treatments. I love helping kids develop good cleaning and flossing habits while ensuring they feel comfortable during their visits.

Hi, I’m Ava, a certified dental assistant with a focus on pediatric dentistry. I graduated from Fanshawe College in 2021 and have three years of experience in the field. My nursing background gave me a strong foundation in patient care, which I now bring to my role in pediatric dentistry. I’m passionate about helping children feel at ease during their visits and assisting with procedures, X-rays, and oral hygiene education. My goal is to make dental visits positive experiences for children while fostering lifelong healthy dental habits.

As a kid I have always been scared of going to the dentist, but as I got older I started to grow an interest in the field of dentistry, however before I decided to make the big jump into becoming a dentist, I took a baby step into pursuing the dental assistant course in 2022 at Vancouver Community College. I worked as a full time dental assistant in a general practice before where I started to grow more of a passion for dentistry and decided to go back to school. Prior to assisting I would do a lot of babysitting for my nieces and nephews, hence why I decided to work in a Pediatric clinic because I got to continue my passion alongside children. I also completed the Sedation module recently in 2024.

After graduating from Vancouver Community College in November 2023, I discovered my passion for pediatric dentistry. My experience as a neighborhood babysitter growing up helped me realize how much I enjoy working with kids. Outside of work, I love baking and spending quality time with my friends and family.

Crystal’s journey into the field of dentistry is a testament to the profound impact that dedicated professionals can have on inspiring the next generation of caregivers. As an orthodontic patient, she had the privilege of observing a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) who effortlessly orchestrated the clinic’s operations, from the front desk to the dental chair. This experience ignited a deep-seated passion for dentistry within her, setting her on a remarkable path.

In December 2021, Crystal took a significant step in realizing her dream by completing her dental receptionist program. She then dedicated a year to honing her skills at a general dental clinic before embarking on her current journey at Glow Richmond. As someone who once sat in the orthodontic patient’s chair herself, Crystal brings a unique perspective and empathy to her role. She is committed to assisting patients in not only achieving optimal oral health but also in building confidence in their smiles, whether through dentistry or orthodontics.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Crystal’s interests and hobbies reveal a multifaceted personality. In her free time, she finds fulfillment in powerlifting, embracing the joys of travel, and sharing memorable gaming experiences with friends. Currently immersed in the captivating world of “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” she ardently pursues the elusive goal of achieving 100% completion. Crystal’s journey is a testament to her dedication, passion, and well-rounded nature, making her a valuable asset to the Glow Richmond team.
